Since 1994 Peter Fagan sculptures have been marketed in the USA by the Enesco Corporation under the name Penny Whistle Lane, which replaced the previous name used prior till then - Adorables. The collection consists mainly of the UK Pennywhistle Lane collection but includes teddies as a separate collection under the name of Centimental Bears. These pieces are usually painted in different colours to the UK versions and a few specially created versions only available in the USA were made available. This piece is part of the Centimental Teddy Collection and measures approximately 1 inch tall. Originally issued in 1991 and retired in 1997, this piece features a small bear who lived in a bookshop until one day a small child borrowed him and he went to live in a hotel in Lyme Regis where he met Binkie. They became firm friends. Eventually they were auctioned in London. Ben was sold first and thought he would never see Binkie again, but luckily Peter Fagan adopted them both. A UK version of Ben was available as part of the Teddy Collection. The UK version of Ben also appears on other Teddy Collection pieces such as Sail Away and the club members piece Wall.
