~ Peter Fagan ~ ~ Cousin Fergus ~
Made of cold cast resin and hand painted in Scotland, this Colour Box piece has been originally hand sculpted by artist Peter Fagan who is more than an artist. He is also a collector. Peter shares his collections by modelling perfect miniatures of those that are close to his heart. This piece is part of the Teddy Collection and measures approximately 3 inches tall. Originally issued in 1994 and retired in 1997, this piece features a bear that lived in a grand Georgian town house on the outskirts of Edinburgh. He enjoyed a brisk walk down Queensferry Road and into town where he went shopping on Princes Street. He always liked to be in town at lunchtime so that he could hear the one o’clock gun fired from the castle. Fergus has a cousin in the Colour Box Hug, Prudence, who lived in an English vicarage. The original Cousin Fergus that Peter Fagan used as a model was auctioned at the Millennium Colour Box Charity Auction on Sunday 6th June 1999, and now forms part of my collection.
