~ Peter Fagan ~ ~ Johan ~
This piece is part of the Teddy Collection and measures approximately 1 inch tall. Originally issued in 1988 and retired in 1994, this piece features a little bear who has had several different owners and a long and interesting tale to tell. He spent his early youth in a quiet country house in France before moving on to the Black Forrest. His owner then lost him. A new friend took him to Paris where he enjoyed evenings by the river and the friendly nightlife with the artists. During the Second World War, he escaped to Belgium where he was to live with a craftsman and lute maker. He then took a trip to Bruges where he was to end up in a dark corner of the Curio Shop. It was here where Peter Fagan took ownership of Johan. He has been used on several other Teddy Collection pieces including; Yuletide (Mould 2), Artistic Licence, Christmas Morning, Notice Board, the Club Members piece for 1990 - 1991, and some versions of the Teddy Bridge.
