~ Peter Fagan ~ ~ Teddy Randell (Green) ~
Made of cold cast resin and hand painted in Scotland, this Colour Box piece has been originally hand sculpted by artist Peter Fagan who is more than an artist. He is also a collector. Peter shares his collections by modelling perfect miniatures of those that are close to his heart. This Colourbox piece is part of the Teddy Collection and measures approximately 1½ inches tall. Teddy Randell is a bear that once belonged to a little girl who loved him dearly. When she became very poorly and had to go into hospital, Teddy Randell naturally went with her, until one day a nurse picked him up and carried him away to a quiet room. There he met a bear called Squidge and they became very good friends. Shortly afterwards they were both auctioned and came to live with Peter Fagan. Teddy Randell was originally sculpted to raise money for the Royal Hospital for Sick Children (known affectionately as The Sick Kids) in Edinburgh. There are a number of colour variations to the heart badge that were used for different charity events. This particular piece is the Green version of which there are only 500 produced. This colourway was produced for the Fun Day on 8th September 1991 at The Meadows, Edinburgh, in aid of the Sick Kids Appeal. All 500 were sold in less then an hour and all the money taken was given to the hospital. The other colours include; Blue, Pink, Gold, Purple and a recently discovered version of White and Blue. Teddy Randell also appears on the piece School Room. I do not currently have a picture of this piece to display, but if anyone knows of where I can obtain one, please let me know.
